What to expect from Apple’s imminent September 9th Event!

2nd September 2015

At the September 9th event Apple are expected to unveil a few new things like a new pair of smartphones the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, as well as a reported new, updated Apple TV device, and potentially a new iPad and iOS, but let’s go through in more detail what we should expect.

Let’s begin with iPhone 6s and 6S Plus, which is likely to have the same overall aesthetics and design as its predecessor, but with new updated software and improved performance. One of the things you’ll certain to expect for the new iPhone models are of course a new processor which will be called the A9, in addition to this there will be a mooted 2GB of RAM upgrade in specs. Alongside this the iPhone 6s and Plus will have a new and improved 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, and it’s also rumoured that the new iPhone will now come with sapphire displays. Allegedly Apple will also radically update its Touch ID mechanism for the iPhone’s, which will apparently offer a better and safer Apple Pay user experience by reducing reading errors.

The newest feature introduced to the iPhone 6s and Plus is Force Touch, which allows the display to differentiate between different strength presses, responding in different ways. It will enable developers to design a host of new features that can be unlocked depending on how forcefully the user presses down, and is something Apple is calling the most significant new sensing capability since Multi-Touch.

Along with the iPhone’s Apple are releasing the highly anticipated new generation Apple TV which will include a redesigned chassis with an A8 processor, more storage space, and a touch-based remote control, along with a new software system that includes Siri support and a full App Store. Along with the new TV box it’s been reported Apple was developing a wireless motion controller, which could enable developers to build unique games for Apple TV and compete with gaming rivals. Apple TV will also include the software that will enable Apple to stream its subscription TV streaming service, with a bundling of TV channels available in 2016.

What else? Well we’ve heard rumours of new iPads, which include a larger 12.9-inch iPad. The bigger iPad would likely come with Force Touch as well as an upgraded camera and screen, and comes due to decline in tablet demand as people migrate to larger-screen iPhones. However this announcement may be made at a later event in 2015, as Apple has a history of hosting a second event in October. Other rumours for the September event include iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, and Apple watch OS 2, but with Apple you never know what they will come out with were just going have to wait till September 9th and see.
