Flashback to the first iPhone ever!

16th May 2018

The hype building up to the release of the 1st generation iPhone was crazy, it had created a bigger buzz than the year before when the PlayStation 3 was released. Due to this Apple stores in America, even went to the extent to hire police officers to guard their stores overnight.

The iPhone was launched on 29th June 2007, selling at $499 for the 4GB phone and then $599 for the 8GB phone. The mobile was only released in the United States at first before making its way to Europe a few months later, in November.

Of course it wasn’t long until the company faced their first uproar about their high demand product. This came after Apple decided to release their first ever iPod Touch, which rapidly sent the price down for the 8GB iPhone, from $599 to $399. This aggravated the early buyers who purchased their iPhone for $499 or $599, which massively put Steve Jobs and co under massive amounts of pressure. In order to keep their customers happy, Apple decided to offer a lot of store credit to customers who could prove that they brought the iPhone before the huge price drop.
