Iridium Starbook 870 Review
How to buy a Starbook 870
There are so many places to buy a Starbook 870, how do you find the best one? First of all decide whether you are happy to buy your Starbook 870 online, or would you rather get your Starbook 870 from a local dealer. This is very much up to you. Many local dealers can offer much more competitive pricing on a Starbook 870 these days than they used to.
Getting the right Starbook 870 If you are not sure you are probably best to buy a proprietary make Starbook 870 with a good warranty and from about the middle of the range. Most people would notice little or no difference between a middle and top of the range Starbook 870. More importantly you should consider the specific features that you want supplied with your Starbook 870 - don't worry too much about gigabyte and MHz if you are buying new - even the cheaper Starbook 870 will be very quick and two year down the road the fast Starbook 870 will seem little different from the slower one
Which type of Starbook 870 For years Athlon and Pentium have been battling out to become king of the Starbook 870. I have had many of both types, both in the desktop and laptop variety. Most technical users would say that a Starbook 870 powered with an Athlon CPU is the better machine; it is my experience that the Pentium powered Starbook 870 are excellent, stable and quick - and would now get my vote
How much to spend on your Starbook 870 There are some fantastic deals available if you are prepared to take a refurbished Starbook 870, you could epact to save about 25% on the price of a new Starbook 870. There's no need to stretch yourself and the odds are that you really don't need and won't use all those features on the expensive Starbook 870 - you should save a few quid and take the kids out instead. Go for a good make, middle of the range with a good warranty and you'll be happy with your choice of Starbook 870. At the time of writing you'd be looking at about £500 for a low end Starbook 870, about £750 for a pretty good Starbook 870 and about £1000 for a top of the range Starbook 870
What other peripherals should you buy with your Starbook 870 Even though there may seem to be a bewildering range of Starbook 870 accessories, you should only buy what you thought you needed before you encountered all those other devices that you can plug into your new Starbook 870. The most useful extras to use with your Starbook 870 are a printer, digital camera, good speakers matched with a good sound card. It's also worth having a good optical mouse connected to you Starbook 870.
Your Starbook 870warranty Getting the right warranty is a very important consideration with your new Starbook 870. An onsite warranty is certainly better than a return to base, which can be inconvenient - especially if you no longer have the original box for your Starbook 870. To make sure your unit is nor damaged in transit it is a good idea to keep hold of the original box that your Starbook 870 came supplied in.
Maintenance of you Starbook 870 There are a few essentials for keeping your Starbook 870 in good condition, free from errors and viruses. Using the live update and scheduled maintenance option with Norton anti-virus will almost certainly protect you from nasty viruses. Likewise a firewall will stop your security being breached when you take your Starbook 870 onto the internet. A regular defrayment or run of Norton system works or utilities will help to keep the hard drive in good condition. Those are the core bits of software that will keep your Starbook 870 running nicely. Of course, using your Starbook 870 in a dusty environment could cause the cooling fan to clog up and consequently result in an over-heat of your Starbook 870.
