T20 Overview
IBM's T series are probably one of best quality laptops in the world. They have a long standing reputation for quality and are favoured by professional users. The construction / build quality is exceptional. The ABS plastics are very hard wearing and are resistant to scratching / damage. The chassis is actually made of titanium and so is extremely strong. They are also one of the most popular laptops in the world so low-cost spares are always readily available, should you ever need them.
Seriously, if you are looking at various refurbished laptops on the internet, hoping to track down the best deal you can do no better than this. This really is the best stock, at the best price. The T20 is also a perfect choice in itself.
Features and use
Our T20 has a Pentium 3 700 Mhz CPU and 256Mb Ram. Under windows 2000, this configuration runs VERY quickly. Recently I tried one of these machines myself. To my surprise it boots up significantly FASTER than my brand new laptop which is running XP, has a 3Ghz CPU and 1Ghz Memeory! This is because windows 2000 required much less processing power than XP and 256mb memory is a HUGE amount under windows 2000.
This machine perfect for everyday computing activity - such as office applications, email, internet, etc, student work. For mosts users it will also be adequate to use with web design and graphics applications such as dreamweaver, photoshop etc. It is not, however suitable for really resource hungry applications such as high end professional 3D graphical design/rendering and other high-end uses such as modern gaming. If you want a laptop for this type of activity, you should have a look at our higher specification range. This laptop also comes with a DVD drive - ideal for watching DVD movies when you are on thew move!
Refurbished Condition and Process
Our T20's are genuine grade A machines that have been professionally refurbished - you've got no chance of finding one in better condition, but plenty of chance of getting a duffer if you go elsewhere! Grade A is only ever given to the high quality refurbished stock that meets carefully defined criteria. Each unit is put through a professional comprehensive testing and refurbishing procedure to ensure that it reaches you in top condition. There may be some light scratches or scuffs, and obviously some wear on the keyboard - but any defects will have been rectified during the refurbishment process.
The software is loaded on a freshly formatted, data wiped harddrive. We also supply you with a windows 2000 edition license and a restore disk - which will restore that laptop quickly and easily to it's original software configuarion, should you need to at some time during the future - no bother!
We will always describe the quality of our machines as accurately as possible, without exaggeration and will never try and pass of goods that do not meet our highest grade A standard. You can and should expect a well presented, good condition machine with no hidden surprises and nothing more than light wear and tear.
