With Apple having released iPad 2 earlier this year, rumours are abound as to what the next iPad could possibly have. There are various news reports ranging from the processor chips, cameras to the retina displays, so this blog post rounds up all these rumours.
Release Date:
The iPad 3 was set to be released in the fourth quarter of 2011 some said as early as November, but realistically it was going be out sometime in the early part of 2012, now it said it will come out no earlier than the spring of 2012.
Hardware Specifications
The new iPad has various new specs including; a new dual core processer (Apples own A6) which will improve both the processer power and the graphics, (there has even being talk of a quad core processer being added) the iPad will also gain a double-resolution display, so an iPad retina display could be on the way.
Near Field Communication
It could also have an NFC chip, which would enable you to use your data and settings with a flick of the wrist. As the iPad follows the new iPhone 5, if the phone has one the iPad will too.
Storage Capacity
The iPad 3 will have more storage than the iPad 2 that is certain, but it could be given a flash storage option of 128GB which is double the memory of the iPad 2.
iPad 3 versions
The iPad 3 may not be the only pad on the way, there has been references made to an iPad 3.1 and 3.2, which will also be sold.
SD Card
The iPad will probably have an SD card slot as one was predicted for the iPad 2 and didn’t appear so one will almost certainly be added to the iPad 3.
Cameras
The iPad will include a better camera, as the one on the iPad 2 was below standard.
Casing
The iPad could also have a carbon-fibre case as suggested by the carbon fibre expert hired by Apple
Upgrade or New?
Finally it has also been suggested that the iPad 3 could be an iPad 2 plus more of an upgrade than a whole new iPad.
